Tone Mapping and High Dynamic Range

Friday, January 25th, 2008

I’ve just begun to dip my toe in the HDR/Tone Mapping water. I haven’t taken any bracketed exposures specifically for this process, so I’ve processed this one from the RAW file prior to processing with Photomatix – this makes it Tone Mapped rather than a proper HDR, but the effect is quite pleasant.

Off Centre

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

I liked the perspective on this image when I first shot it, but hadn’t got around to processing it. I think that the black and white suits it better as the colour especially in the clothing distracts from the lines of the pier.
