Have to lead worship tomorrow in church – last minute request. The focus of worship is God, not us. All too often it is geared towards pleasing people, and not our Maker. Lord, give us worshipping hearts for tomorrow, and may the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, for you are our rock and our redeemer.

Not one of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass. (Joshua 21:45) Israel had their fair share of war. In all of it God promised to give them victory, and not one promise failed! The only failure was on the part of Israel to fully obey God. So today it is only those who don’t fully obey who don’t fully obtain the promises of God. The state of the Christian Church today is a direct result of our sin, our failure – not God’s!
“Give me Hebron” – this is what Caleb said to Joshua when the promised land was being divided among the Israelites. Hebron was the land of the Anakim – the giants – the inhabitants who had scared off the spies first time around. We need more Calebs in the Church today – those who want to go and conquer for God, no matter how big the opposition!
