As you can see from many of my photos, one of the things I like to do is take images that have no definite focal point. I think there’s a calmness about this sort of image that makes it less striking at first glance, but much more restful in the long term and something that you can grow familiar with, just as you would with the view out of a window. It’s the sort of thing I’d like to hang on my wall.
This shot was taken at the top of Lough Neagh at Antrim’s Lough Shore Park. The water was calm and the sky was soft and subtle. The whole package was restful to watch, and I think this image captures something of how I felt looking out along the lough.
Now that I’ve begun to get to grips with the new job, the return to Northern Ireland and the cold weather I actually managed to get out and about at lunch time the other day and grab a few shots of Antrim Technology Park where I’m now working. The building in the picture is the office of Nitec Solutions where I am now a part of the team. The environment is wonderful, and the views out of the office window are well worth stopping and looking at – when you need a rest from the computer screen. This shot is taken from slightly above the office, looking down towards the trees. There was just enough snow on the ground to add some interest to the image.
