The Tide Came in Today at Southport Beach

The Tide Came in Today at Southport Beach

Well, strictly speaking it was yesterday, but then, it was yesterday that I took this photo, so, it was ‘today’ when I took the photo if you get what I’m saying…

It’s not often that the tide comes right up to the sea defences here in Southport. I know it comes in twice a day, just the same as everywhere else, but because of the shallow gradient the tide comes in fast and leaves just as quickly; you have to time it right to see the sea in Southport. This time was just coincidence: no planning, no checking of tide times, just an appointment at the other end of the coast road and five minutes to spare on the way.

Anyway here’s how Southport Beach looks with the tide in, just in case you haven’t seen it for yourself!
