It was a privilege to be asked to preach at Grace Baptist Church on Sunday evening. The topic was Reaffirming the Foundations – taking a look at Genesis chapter 1 and 1 Corinthians chapter 15 regarding the assurance that what the Bible has told us about where we come from and where we are going to is completely reliable.

Sandra and I drove up for an overnight in the historic townlet of Hawkshead. The gaggle of streets nestle under the gaze of Hawkshead parish church, perched on a hill, overseeing the tourists and travellers. Behind the church stretch some rural paths up into the hills, and out of the village. The sun was blazing, the sky was clear. and the trees were just beginning to come into leaf.

All was quiet, lambs gambolled in the fields – the perfect wedding anniversary walk…the perfect rural idyll!

I was offered a morning to potter around the grounds of Scarisbrick Hall a couple of weekends ago. There were daffodils springing up in front of the hall, so I flipped out the screen and took some low level shots from among the daffs. This is my favourite 🙂
